Cristina Magnusson is an Indigenous artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who’s powerful and captivating performances blend hip-hop and spoken word. Behind every word in her songs, there is a strong and heartfelt message: being indigenous isn’t a choice—it is a gift. Cristina is of Peruvian, Chilean, Cherokee, and Lakota heritage; she was brought up in these traditions and the sacred ceremony of Sundance. Cristina began writing and performing music when she was 11 years old. She is very passionate about her Indigenous identity, it is central to her artistic work; every word of her music comes from a special place inside her.
