Tamarzee is a multidisciplinary poet and filmmaker. Her previous films have shown in the Victoria Film Festival; Women in the Director’s Chair International Film & Video Festival, Chicago; Immaginaria International Film Festival, Italy; Mix NYC; and Inside Out, Toronto. In 2019, she won both English prizes at the RIDM Talent Lab.
Hit Like a Woman
Hit Like a Woman is a playful mix of screen in screen, montage, animation, and traditional documentary techniques that paints a musical portrait of Sarah Thawer; the ass-kicking drummer brought to you by the forces of intergenerational feminism and international music. In 2022, Hit Like a Woman had its world premiere at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto.
