Valmy is a Newfoundland-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who’s been following the ocean and making home on the East Coast. Exploring the complexities of relationship, loss, and healing, she uses her folk-influenced music to tell stories about loving and stumbling your way through the dark. Valmy’s debut album, The In Between, weaves nature-inspired melodic swells and atmospheric harmonies with her contemplative writing and arrangements. Valmy was MusicNL 2024’s Solo Artist of the Year award recipient, an East Coast Music Award nominee for African Canadian Artist of the Year in 2024, and thrives on opportunities to connect with audiences through performances locally and through festivals across Newfoundland and the mainland. Having her last performance in Halifax as part of the Allan Good Fun house show series in 2025, Valmy looks forward to sharing new music upon her return to the city for this year’s Prismatic Arts Festival.
