Art for Everyone!
- Strive to prioritize venues that have accessible entrances and washrooms.
- Welcome service animals and personal support workers to performances and events.
- Are committed to working intentionally with artists and communities to provide ASL interpretation, captioning, written and audio descriptions of performances, when possible.
- Offer content notices for select performances and have active listeners and cultural support workers on site, when possible.
- Have Naloxone kits at the Front of House with trained personnel in case of emergency.
- Provide items and options at the Front of House including balloons, ear plugs, sunglasses, masks, and quiet spaces.
- Offer a pay-what-you-can ticketing model, whenever possible. If finances are a barrier to accessing an event, please contact us or come see us at the Front of House.
- All events at Prismatic are photographed. If you do not want to be photographed, please let a staff member know when you arrive.

The cabaret style audience arrangement allows for wheelchair accessible seating.

Art Gallery of Nova Scotia
All areas of the gallery are wheelchair accessible. If assistance or a wheelchair is required, please visit the AGNS information desk.
Elevators are available in both buildings.
All-gender washrooms are available on the first floor of the south building and third floor of the north building. There are washrooms on the lower level.
Service animals and personal support workers are welcome.
Please note: backpacks, food, drinks, large bags, and umbrellas are not permitted in Gallery spaces. These items must be stored in the AGNS coat room or lockers.
Photography is allowed, without flash. Please do not touch artworks.
The Windsor Foundation Lecture Theatre
Accommodates 80 people in its fixed theatre seating.
Breaking Circus Studio
Breaking Circus Studio is wheelchair accessible. There is a slight incline to get from the parking lot to the main entrance.
All-gender, wheelchair accessible washrooms are available.
The Blue Building
2203 Gottingen St, Halifax, NS B3K 3B5
The Blue Building Gallery is on the first floor of 2842 Maynard, through the doors on the left, under the awning. The main door is equipped with an automated button which leads to an interior vestibule. A second door, which is often propped open, leads to the main gallery space. During open hours and at appointment times, staff will be available to provide assistance as needed.
All washrooms in the building are single stall and gender-neutral. There is one washroom in the gallery. At the back of the building is an accessible washroom equipped with a changing table.
2482 Maynard is one block away from bus routes #2 and #3 on North Street and three blocks from bus routes on Gottingen Street including #7.
Directly in front of the 2482 Maynard building is a large parking lot which can be used by visitors, with an accessible parking spot on either side of the lot closest to the building. There is also a bike rack outside of the building.The Bus Stop Theatre
Three all-gender washrooms are available in the lobby, including one that is wheelchair accessible. Changing pads can be made available if needed. Get in touch with Prismatic or ask our staff and volunteers.
All the entrances and exits have automatic doors. The fire exit on the back of the theatre has stairs.
All public spaces in the theatre are wheelchair accessible. Floors are level throughout the space, with a ramp immediately inside the front door. The bar has a lower and higher portion on both the patron and staff side.
Reserved spaces for wheelchair users will be available in the theatre.
The Carleton
A ramp will be set up at the Argyle Street entrance.
Five single-user, all-gender washrooms are available, one of which is wheelchair accessible.
The majority of seating at The Carleton is low tables and chairs, and seating at the bar is high stools. Please feel free to let us know your mobility needs in advance so we can reserve seating for you.
All evening performances at The Carleton require audiences to be 19 years or older.
CBC Studio 60
There is a parking lot for vehicles that is free to use. The entrance is on the main floor through a double door. This venue is wheelchair accessible. Folding chairs as seating will be provided.
Dalhousie Arts Centre
The Dalhousie Arts Centre has a number of wheelchair accessible entrances. The main entrance on University Avenue has both a ramp and automatic doors. There are wheelchair accessible washrooms and gender-inclusive washrooms.
The Dunn Theatre has wheelchair accessible seating amongst the front row of seats. These are accessible from the third floor of the building (main entrance level).
The Dalhousie Art Gallery is accessible by both stairs and an elevator. You can find the Gallery by descending the stairs or elevator by the main entrance on University Avenue.
The Rebecca Cohn Auditorium is equipped with an LS-55 Stationary Wireless RF System by Listen Technologies. There are a number of spaces in the auditorium designed to meet the needs of patrons in wheelchairs. Restrooms are located on the second and fourth floors of the Arts Centre (one floor down and one floor up from the lobby). These restrooms are wheelchair accessible via an elevator. There is a wheelchair-accessible, all-gender, family restroom located on the second floor.
The Grand Parade - Grand Oasis Stage
Wheelchair accessible entrances to the Grand Parade are located on both Argyle Street and Barrington Street. These entrances are located on Argyle Street near Duke Street (next to City Hall) and on Barrington Street at George Street (across the street from TD Bank).
There is a single-user, all-gender, portable public washroom located near the Barrington Street entrance.
There will be a reserved area near the stage for attendees with access needs. Please feel free to identify your needs to our volunteers – they can guide you to one of our reserved spaces.
There are several benches, chairs, and picnic tables at the Grand Parade. We encourage you to arrive early or bring your own seating (e.g. blankets, camping chairs) if you would like to be seated during the show. The show can be viewed while standing as well.
The Fountain School of Performing Arts - Joseph Strug Hall
The main entrance has an automatic double door to enter. It is located on ground level. There is a ramp to access the bar/reception level, where accessible, gender neutral washrooms are available. The elevator goes from the ground level to the upper level and connects with the Dalhousie Arts Centre.
Row P and Orchestra Left seats 1-6 are wheelchair-accessible seating.
Halifax Central Library
The Halifax Central Library’s main entrance on Spring Garden road is wheelchair accessible. Queen Street entrance is also accessible by ramp and stairs.
The building has five floors. There are multiple elevators and staircases throughout the library.
There are drinking fountains and accessible washrooms on each floor.
Halifax Dance
Halifax Citadel National Historic Site
There are two entrances/exits into the Halifax Citadel: the front entrance/exit is located on the Southeast portion of the Citadel facing the Old Town Clock and Brunswick Street and the back entrance/exit is located on the west side of the Citadel facing Ahern Avenue and Bell Road.
General parking is accessible from the back entrance/exit and located in the ditch or lower level of the Halifax Citadel. Accessible parking is located at the front entrance/exit near the front entrance kiosk.
The Citadel Hill Casemates are not wheelchair accessible.
The terrain leading to the casemates is made of loose gravel.
Washrooms are located in a separate building close by.
House of Eights Dance Studio
House of Eights Dance Studio has accessible all-gender washrooms.
At the entrance of House of Eights, there are nine stairs going downwards. The accessibility lift is currently out of service.
There is an elevator up to the House of Eights (third floor).
There are non-wheelchair accessible, gendered washrooms, as well as accessible all-gender washrooms.
MacPhee Centre For Creative Learning
Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre
The Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre is wheelchair accessible.
MSVU Art Gallery
MSVU Art Gallery’s main entrance is located on the 1st floor of Seton Academic Centre (SAC) at Mount Saint Vincent University.
The Gallery is accessible by public transit and by vehicle. Accessible parking spaces are available on-site. Parking is free on weekends and metered on weekdays.
The Lower Gallery entrance has an automated door for accessible entry and is 90 cm wide. Elevators are available to access both levels of the Gallery.
There are multi-stall gendered washrooms located near the Gallery’s main entrance; these washrooms do not have automated doors. An accessible, single-stall washroom with an automated door is located on the 4th floor of the building. It is reachable by elevator and Gallery Attendants can assist visitors in finding this washroom.
Neptune Theatre Scotiabank Stage

All spaces at Neptune Theatre Scotiabank Stage are wheelchair accessible.
Multiple single-user, all-gender, wheelchair accessible washrooms are available.
NSCAD Former Art Bar (FAB)
Queen's Marque
The Queen’s Marque is a public, outdoor space on the Halifax waterfront. If there are any changes to Prismatic’s schedule due the weather, we will announce it via social media.
There are public, all-gender, wheelchair accessible washrooms on the boardwalk, approximately a 5 minute walk from the Queen’s Marque area.
Rogers Square, Nova Centre
Rogers Square is a public, outdoor, sheltered space.
There is some vehicle traffic coming in and out of the parkade level. Please be mindful of the shared road.
The Sanctuary Arts Centre
Spatz Theatre

Spatz Theatre has wheelchair accessible entrances and seating.
Gender inclusive washrooms are available.
St. Matthew’s United Church
St. Matthew’s United Church has limited accessibility. There is no wheelchair accessible washroom or seating.
To get to the washrooms, guests must walk down a flight of stairs. Washroom facilities are gendered.
The building has fixed, wooden pew seating.
