Global Savages The Debajehmujig Storytellers

Global Savages
The Debajehmujig Storytellers

Type of Art:  Storytelling

Dates:  Aug 20th – 23rd

Location: Alderney Landing Events Plaza

The Global Savages are a small band of family members who have been travelling since the beginning of time to share their story and the teachings of their ancestors. They bring stories for all humankind – for the preservation of humanity. Who will listen? Under the open sky, with cedar tea brewing over the fire, The Global Savages will share how their ancestors understood and experienced the world and what they learned and passed down to us over thousands of years. What do the symbols carved into petroglyphs and painted on rocks mean? What did our ancestors want us to know and why? Why have the Elders sent them out into the world to share this story now? The Global Savages is developed and performed by The Debajehmujig Storytellers based on Manitoulan Island. The Global Savages experience is gentle, honest, powerful, and respectful. Audiences will not only leave with new knowledge and understanding, they will also learn how to apply the teachings to their own lives.
