This year, Prismatic is joining the International Indigenous Music Summit on their next stop in the IIMS Bimiwizh series which will take place on Monday September 26th as the opening event of Prismatic 2022!

The past few years have been immensely difficult and now, more than ever, our communities need to gather, heal, and dream together. Therefore, rather than hosting and inviting everyone to a full, in-person Summit event this year, the IIMS team is visiting community across northern Turtle Island through a series of 1-day regional Summit activations.

The day will include both a community gathering and a musical showcase featuring local Indigenous artists based in the Eastern provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland & Labrador).

The Summit brings together Indigenous artists and the music industry to honour tradition and forge new paths through curated musical showcases, networking activities, panels, and ceremonies.

Through collaboration with local and regional partners in the community, including the Mi’kmaq Friendship Centre, Bimiwizh will shine a spotlight on amazing local Indigenous talent and create opportunities for our community to gather together, build and strengthen relationships, and share our stories, challenges, successes, and dreams for the future.

In addition to the evening showcases, the full-day gathering will also facilitate opportunities to build meaningful and mutually beneficial bridges and partnerships between artists, professionals, and key players in both Indigenous and mainstream music industries.

Prismatic is thrilled to work together with the International Indigenous Music Summit and the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre to bring Bimiwizh to Kjipuktuk / Halifax at Prismatic 2022!
