Collectively this international assembly of artists, thinkers, presenters, local and global citizens will begin by reflecting on where they are on Turtle Island presently;acknowledging the locality, then tuning in to an insightful discussion led by Indigenous artists that explores how Land and Place shapes the creative practice

TALK Session #2:  Engaging Intersectionality

Noted artists, thinkers and activists from across the diaspora will be Engaging in nuanced dialogs onIntersectionalitythat affirm the lived experiences of artists from Black, Indigenous communities and communities of colour, inclusive of gender, race and disability.

TALK Session #3: Addressing the Void

All assembled will be engaged in Addressing the Void –  offering expansive thoughts on what and who is missing in the current arts ecology; making visible what kinds of bodies and narratives are rarely reflected on stage, in film and within galleries.

Canada Council for the Arts – Presentation on Sector Innovation and Development Grant Program (Denis Lepsis and Felipe Diaz)

 
Are you an artist or an arts professional working with an arts group, organization, or collective with bold, innovative, or special infrastructure or sector building projects in mind? Don’t quite know which Canada Council for the Arts program they might fit under? The Canada Council for the Arts will be giving a presentation on project grant components and opportunities for arts groups, organizations, and collectives, with an emphasis on the Sector Innovation and Development component of the Supporting Artistic Practice program. This presentation (in English followed by a Q&A in English and French) will include a brief overview of the Canada Council’s programs, a look at who can apply and what kinds of projects are eligible under Sector Innovation and Development, and some helpful tips on putting together your strongest application.

Intentional space will be carved out for those with shared cultural connections to gather amongst themselves; coming back together for a communal meal to eat and strategize on how to Move Beyond the Gesture; deepening our intention to build meaningful relationships beyond The TALK.
