Prismatic is partnering with the Atlantic Presenters Association to further support Indigenous artists and artists of colour at Contact East 2022, an annual conference which gathers presenters and key industry stakeholders from across the Atlantic Region. This year’s Contact East takes place in Kjipuktuk / Halifax from September 22nd to 25th.

The partnership will feature a Prismatic showcase at the conference, through which Prismatic will support the showcasing and pitching of artists, as well as a new mentorship program which will support the professional development of a local emerging artist by connecting them with an established artist.

This enhanced industry programming engages artists who will be presented at the Prismatic Arts Festival in 2022 and beyond, and will allow them to showcase, network, develop relationships with presenters, and build new audiences around the Atlantic Region, with a focus on rural communities.

Prismatic is delighted to support of the following artists:

  • Santiago Guzmán, ALTAR – Showcase
  • Ebnflōh Dance Company, In-Ward – Showcase
  • Akpik Theatre, Pawâkan Macbeth – Pitch
  • DeeDee Austin, mentored by Jenelle Duval – Mentorship
Prismatic and APA look forward to supporting these incredible artists on their journey of building new audiences, embarking on touring opportunities, and developing community relationships with key stakeholders across the Atlantic Region.
